Boldly leaving the past behind him, Berlin-based Aussie expat J Mahon shares his candid new single 'Begin Again'. Explaining via Instagram, "This is more or less the title track of my new album and really represents where I’m at right now in my life and in terms of my recovery from drugs over the last 5 years,"- there's a striking lack of pretence on show here. A little like Velvet Underground, if they had the energy or capacity to be jaunty, there's something wonky and timeless about Mahon's songwriting style. Noting Sparklehorse and Daniel Johnston as hugely impactful on his own music, we'll be welcoming the arrival of the album on th 27th of June and keeping a close eye on Mahon's next moves. -Holly Mullineaux
